Get ready for a full day of sunshine, community, and joyful connection as LGBTQ+ Outdoors gathers at Loveland Sports Park for a potluck picnic, sand volleyball, games, and all‑ages outdoor fun. This is a day to relax, play, eat, connect, and enjoy the Colorado sun with people who make you feel at home.

This event is for LGBTQ+ folks and allies of all ages and experience levels — whether you’re sporty, social, shy, new to the outdoors, or just looking for community. You belong here.

We’ll be set up at Shelter #2, which gives us shade, tables, and a cozy home base for food, games, and downtime. Even better — functioning restrooms are right next to our shelter, so no long walks or bathroom scavenger hunts required.

The park is packed with activities for every mood and energy level:
A basketball court nearby
A playground and spray park for cooling off or unleashing your inner child
Walking paths, open green spaces, and plenty of room to roam
Whether you’re here to spike a volleyball, share a meal, play a board game, or simply soak up the sunshine with community, you’ll find your place.

Come When You Can, Drop‑In Friendly
Life is busy, schedules are chaotic, and we want this event to feel easy.
You’re welcome to drop in at any time during the event.
If you arrive late, leave early, or pop in for just one part of the day, that’s completely okay.
You’ll be welcomed warmly whenever you get here.

Setup at 12 PM
Want to help set up, decorate, or just hang out early?
We’ll be there at 12 PM getting everything ready — all helping hands (and early birds) are welcome.

Getting‑to‑Know‑You Activity at 12:30 PM
At 12:30 PM, we’ll kick things off with a light, fun, low‑pressure getting‑to‑know‑you activity.
It’s a great way to meet new people, make connections, and start the day with some laughter and community energy.

Think of it as a warm‑up for the day, a chance to meet new people, make connections, and start the event with some laughter and community energy.

Potluck Lunch at 1 PM
We’ll share our community meal at 1 PM.
Bring a favorite dish to share — homemade, store‑bought, or “I grabbed this on the way and I’m not ashamed.” All are welcome.

If you have food allergies or dietary needs, we encourage you to bring a dish you know you can enjoy, just in case the potluck table turns into a mystery buffet.

Please bring your own utensils, plates, and anything else you need to enjoy your meal.

Alcohol‑Free Event
This is a dry, alcohol‑free event. We do not have an alcohol permit for the park, so alcohol is not permitted anywhere at the event.

Thank you for helping us keep the space safe, inclusive, and in compliance with park rules.

Volleyball from 2 PM – 8 PM
We have a reserved sand volleyball court from 2 PM to 8 PM, and we’ll provide one volleyball for the group.

If you prefer a specific type of ball or want to keep games running smoothly, feel free to bring your own.

Whether you’re a seasoned player or someone whose volleyball skills peak at “enthusiastic participation,” you’re welcome on the court. This is all about fun, not perfection.

Not into sports? Bring a game!
If volleyball isn’t your thing, feel free to bring cards, board games, or anything fun to enjoy under the shelter.
This is a community day, play what brings you joy.

Leave No Trace
At the end of the event, we’ll do a quick group cleanup.
Many hands make light work, and we want to leave Shelter #2 and the park just as beautiful as we found them.

Accessibility Notes
• Shelter #2 is close to parking and restrooms and is ADA accessible.
• The volleyball court is on sand; other activities are on paved or grassy areas.
• The Spray Park and playground are nearby and easy to access.

Weather Plan
Colorado weather can be dramatic, but as true Coloradans we’re prepared.
Shelter #2 is fully covered, providing shade and protection from light rain, so we’ll still have a safe, comfortable place to gather, eat, and play games even if the weather shifts.

If conditions become unsafe (lightning, heavy rain, high winds), we’ll move to the shelter, pause outdoor activities, or adjust the schedule as needed. Your safety comes first, and we’ll make sure everyone stays dry, informed, and taken care of.
