Who can join an LGBTQ Outdoors Adventure trip

Our trips are intended for adults in the LGBTQ+ community. We welcome all members of the LGBTQ+ community, including their straight or cis partners. Our goal is to create a supportive, inclusive, and welcoming environment for everyone.

What kind of accommodations can I expect?

This will be a tent camping trip, so you’ll want to bring a tent, sleeping pad, and sleeping bag. If you don’t have a tent, LGBTQ Outdoors has one available for you to borrow. Never been camping before? Totally okay – this trip is a great introduction to tent camping. Our trip leaders will be on hand to offer support, answer questions, and help you set up your tent if you’d like. Camping is a fun, low-pressure way to slow down, unplug, and connect more deeply with nature – and with the community around you.

Do I need to have camping, hiking or kayaking experience to participate?

No – prior experience with camping, hiking, or kayaking is not required, though it can be helpful. Our trips are designed to welcome adventurers of all experience levels, whether this is your first time sleeping in a tent, hiking a trail, or paddling on the water, or you’re a seasoned outdoor enthusiast. If you’re new to hiking or hiking in mountainous areas, practicing on a treadmill with an incline can be a helpful way to prepare and make the experience more comfortable and enjoyable. This trip is also a great introduction to outdoor adventures, with leaders available to support you along the way.

What is included in the cost of the trip

The price includes pick-up and drop-off at Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport (LIT) in Little Rock, Arkansas (within a selected pick up time), accommodations, meals (starting with dinner the first night and ending with breakfast the last day), activities, gear rentals, and park entry fees. Please note travel to and from Arkansas is not included.

Do I need to bring my own gear?

A detailed packing list will be provided, but there are a few essential items you’ll need for this trip. Basic camping gear is required; however, LGBTQ Outdoors can provide a tent for you to borrow if needed. You won’t need to bring any cooking equipment — all meals will be provided.

What about meals and dietary restrictions?

Meals are provided during the trip and we can accommodate most dietary needs. Please let us know your requirements in advance. You are welcome to provide and prepare your own meals; however, that is definitely not necessary.

Will I feel welcome if attending solo?

Absolutely! Many participants join solo, and our trips foster a sense of community and connection, making it easy to form friendships.

What is the cancellation policy?

Deposits: While your deposit is nonrefundable, you can apply it to any other adventure this year or next. Refunds for Other Payments: For all other payments, you can receive a 100% refund up to 30 days before the start date. Within 30 days, we offer a 75% refund. Transfers: You can transfer your deposit and spot to another attendee at any time.

Can I make payments in installments?

Yes. All trips require a $250 nonrefundable deposit to secure your spot on the trip. Depending on the amount of the trip determines the amount of payments allowed. When you pay for the trip you have three options: Pay for the trip in full Pay the deposit and the balance later Pay the deposit and make payments allowed in payment form

Will I recieve a refund if I leave the trip early?

Unfortunately, by the time the trip is happening expenses have been paid for and cannot be refunded. Additionally, you are responsible for any additional costs such as, but not limited to flight changes or transportation to the airport.

Will we get a packing list?
