Armond Bayou Nature Center is one of the largest urban wilderness preserves in the US. It has 4,000 acres containing wetland forest, a prairie, and marsh habitats with over 370 species of birds, mammals, reptiles, and amphibians. We’ll go on a 5-mile hike that will take us through each of these habitats. The entrance fee is $7 for adults, and $5 for children. You can pay when you arrive, or online beforehand. I do recommend buying your ticket online as it is much easier and will speed up the entry process. As usual, we’ll end with a group lunch nearby for anyone who wants to join.
