What Colorado peak is German for "Beer City?" Mt. Bierstadt! Easier, as 14ers go and one of the most popular. This 14er could be your first one, last one ever, or might get you started on your quest to finish all 54, or 58 14ers, depending on how you count them.
We will be taking the standard route up from the Guanella Pass parking lot. Starting at 12,000 feet, the trail switchbacks up the mountain slope gaining 2700 feet of elevation over the course of it's 7 miles. The trail provides expansive views across the Continental Divide with Mt. Blue Sky just to the east (seemingly a short jaunt away ... it's not).
If you're worried about signing up, don't. Though I have done many 14ers, I haven't done one since 2019. I'll moving S-L-O-W-L-Y.
