Join us for a wild ice skating adventure near Jim Lake and the winding meanders of McRoberts Creek.

This outing is for skaters with some prior experience on wild ice and able to sustain at least 10 miles of skating in a group setting.
It is perfect for those who want to explore winter landscapes on blades in a supportive group.

We’ll start with a warm-up on the lake, then head into the creek system, gliding through frozen channels, gentle curves, and open stretches of beautiful natural ice. The goal isn’t speed or competition, but flow, exploration, and moving together through a stunning winter setting. Expect a half-day outing with plenty of skating (10+ miles possible), pauses to take in the scenery, and route choices guided by conditions and the group’s energy.

Plan is condition-dependent. If snow cover or ice quality doesn’t allow for creek skating, we’ll relocate to a groomed lake in the Anchorage area for a great alternative skate.
